Schools
There are currently more than 60 schools and over 1500 students participating in the after school programs of the Piano School of New York. After school programs developed by the Piano School typically involve group classes of 3 to 6 children whose parents pay a modest fee ($15 per week) to attend each session. Piano School classes can be found in such varied Manhattan neighborhoods as Harlem, Morningside Heights,Washington Heights,the Lower East side, Midtown, the Upper West Side,as well as Downtown Brooklyn, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Canarsie, Staten Island, Queens, and Jersey City, NJ. The program operates in New York Metropolitan area, and includes public schools, parochial schools, nursery schools and kindegartens.
PONY offers children in need, who could not otherwise afford the after school programs organized by the Piano School, full or partial scholarships. Scholarship students are recommended by each school involved in the program. Nearly all schools involved in the Piano School's after school programs are currently nominating scholarship candidates. During the Fall of 2005, PONY had given out 173 full and partial scholarships, and during 2005-2006 school year over 200 scholraships were given to nominated children.
